Congratulations! You have taken a step in the right direction to help yourself and your family to enjoy a healthier and better life. The sooner you clear your home of toxic substances, the sooner you'll be safe in your own home. That's a great plan.

What we have on our shelves from the grocery store is there because we haven't really known the truth about what's in them. Now that you know more about the risks of toxic chemicals in so many everyday products, you can make better choices.

Just like with any change, take it one small step at a time.

Do just one thing that will empower you. Here are some simple suggestions. First, choose the courses of action that appeal to you most. Second, give yourself credit for every change you make! We all have many years worth of habits in buying and using chemical based products. Every change you make makes a difference to your health, your family, and the environment!

Simple things you can do today:

Don't use that bubble bath with your child. You've saved them one exposure to Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, and surely some dyes and fragrances.

If you can't change anything else, change your shampoo. That's one place that Sodium Laurel Sulfate won't absorb through your skin, and create 'foggy brain', etc.

Stop doing your nails. You won't be breathing aromatic hydrocarbons with Toluene, which affects central nervous system, eyes, liver, kidneys, and is highly toxic.

Choose a Hand Wash that is NOT anti-bacterial, and you'll avoid Triclosan, a pesticide whose manufacturing process may produce dioxin has hormone disrupting chemicals with toxic effects in parts per trillion!

Find a toothpaste for you and your children without fluoride. Despite its claim to prevent cavities, fluoride is actually a bi-product of making fertilizer and a way to dispose of a harmful by-product. Simply, put, fluoride is a dangerous, toxic chemical.

To smell beautiful, begin using pure essential oils instead of perfume. They will have an aromatherapeutic effect and help you avoid extra exposure to Phthalates, which are hormone disruptors causing infertility, birth defects, and more.

Choose body and skin lotions products that don't use the Paraben family of preservatives. This is difficult, as it's the most common preservative used today, commonly found on health store shelves. But look for grapefruit seed extract instead.

Ask yourselves, 'Who cares if my conditioner or shampoo foams when I use it?' By avoiding DEA, MEA, TEA in your facial cleanser or acne cream, too, you will avoid another known carcinogen with brain and memory side effects.

2. Check the labels of products in your home and get rid of any with ingredients you want to avoid. Forgive yourself for spending money on them. You didn't know better.


3. Read labels. Get to know at least the deadly dozen. Check labels of products you currently use as well as before you buy anything new. If you see any of the deadly dozen, stop using those products. Get acquainted with the names of the worst offenders. Focus on learning about one ingredient at a time.

Make a personal commitment to not buy products with toxic ingredients.


4. Stop yourself and your family from being exposed. Some exposure might be unavoidable, so the next best thing is to reduce the exposure to toxic products wherever you can.

6. Drink High Mountain Spring water. Normal tap water may contain a lot of chemicals or fluoride. Your body is over 80% water, so of course the water you use matters.
